Fitness
Personal training is not simply for body-builders, gym rats and athletes. Studies continue to show that resistance training is crucial for not just longevity, but for a well-lived life. My understanding and interpretation of fitness was transformed when I heard the following on a podcast:
Imagine the last decade of your life. What do you want to look like? feel like? move like? Train for that.
I have always been an athlete, but recurring lower back pain drove me to seek a trainer’s help in my mid-20’s. The solution he gifted me was not just pain relief through deadlifts and back extensions, but a curiosity about the nature of the human body and how it has evolved to move. In 2020, I received my NASM accreditation as a Certified Personal Trainer and, in 2022 I was certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist.
I teach group classes and private lessons, for students of all skill levels, with a focus on functional fitness (squatting, lunging, hinging, pushing, pulling, planking and walking). I work with free weights, kettlebells, resistance bands, stabilizing equipment, and body weight — so no equipment necessary (but some is fun!).
Ultimately, my ethos is to help you correct, improve and free your body so that you can live your best life.
